The Teacher Resource Center (TRC), located inside the NSC's Fort Discovery, provides teachers and home-school parents with a "lending library" of hands-on mathematics and science materials for the classroom. It is a source for innovative supplemental educational materials not otherwise readily available to a classroom teacher. There are over 3000 items that can be checked out.

Hours of Operation

All materials must be checked out and returned during the operating hours of the TRC.

TRC Calendar May 2008 - December 2008 January 2009 - December 2009
	Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday	12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
	1st & 3rd Saturday of month	10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Closed Monday, Friday, Sunday and some holidays. Check calendar below or call to verify.

Lending Process

• To be eligible to use the TRC, you must maintain an active Teacher Fort Discovery membership. The cost of an annual teacher membership is $40 per year.
• You must receive a TRC membership card which requires that you present proof of employment as a teacher or enrollment in a valid home school association in order to become an active member of the TRC. You will receive a separate TRC membership card as well as a Fort Discovery membership card. You must present both of these cards at the time of checkout.
• A loan agreement must be signed before any material can be checked out.

Check Out Policies

• Items may be checked out for 15 calendar days. An item may be renewed once for the same time period provided there is no immediate demand for it by another teacher. Only one kit may be checked out at a time. Late fees will be assessed for all overdue items. The teacher is expected to return each item in the same condition as received (fair wear expected) and with all expendable items replaced. In the event that one or more borrowed items are damaged or expendables are not replaced, the teacher assumes responsibility for the repair or replacement of the item. An expendables list will be issued with each kit inventory.
• TRC memberships may not be loaned to another individual.
• Members may check out 5 items at a time, but only one kit at a time.
